Where To Buy Epiphone Les Paul Custom?

Most Epi's are MIC now... but don't let that put you off. With all guitars its best if you can try it first and take a close look at its built.

I've two Epis, a standard and the custom both MIC coming from the Qingdao factory which is a Gibson/Epiphone dedicated factory and have been getting many compliments about consistently making good Epis.

And with these 2, I haven't had any problems with any truss rod issues or back bows or major refrets.

Some are strat haters, some are lp haters... its all up to preferance. At the end of the day you're the one getting the guitar that YOU will be satisfied with. Try the guitar out if possible and make sure you don't make a rash decision.. check the guitar for neck warps and such.

Good luck on the guitar search

if thats the case i'm still gona get a lp custom!!!!! i really luv it. o ya, wads the diff btw antigque white and alpline white? and will all white guitar turn yellow after afew years?

oh yea, any compliments abt burny lp customs too?
ive got one and i feel that construction wise it pwns my epi hands down

Burny/ Tokai/ Edwards/ Greco offer good (if not better) alternatives to the Epi offerings (not discounting the Epi altogether, i still hold the Ultra in high regards).

The alpine white will yellow and age with time but I'm not sure if it'll turn as yellow as the antique ivory which is already waay yellowed off the shelf.

nothing wrong with the Chinese Epis.

on the budget front, the Chinese & Indonesian craftsmanship are showing marked improvements.

Yes, i handle a LH lespaul standard by Epi before, the neck is smooth, the weight is heavy and it feel right, balanced.( but not able to try the sound) but overall it's good. was surprise it come from QingDao.

on a side track
my uncle's wife is a QingDaian, she gives me an insight that QingDaians are not the common Chinese, and they holds high work ethnic, remember her words, it's give me another layer of Assurance to convince of my further purchase.
:mrgreen::mrgreen:

but still.... if they's a choice, i will rather up my budget to get an Edwards
for the resale value

Thks for the link lifele55, it's funny how the western is all admired on the China copy.. while we locals were going "oh man!!.. not a China copy".. guess it's the open flood gate of numbers of FTs in various profession, that gives us this impression.. haha.

How about an MIS les paul copy? anyone up for it?

MIS will be expensive because of the labour costs.. Also, the materials are not available locally so we have to import it. So it would cost significantly higher.

lets say i maintain my guitar like every2 weeks polish it once and that after everytime i play i clean it, hw long it takes for a white guitar to turn yellow?

Haha glad you like the LP.. The explorer is great too, but i wish you'd taken a bit better care of it bro, I had to like polish and re-string and condition fretboard... took me more than 6 hours but overall, it's pretty great!

since I USED to own a Burny, I sincerely believe the construction and quality also own a lot of LP copies hands down

the title of the thread is "Where To Buy Epiphone Les Paul Custom?". so yeah.

re:

One word before you jump in and die of salivation over this guitar. Did you know that the truss rod only goes in half way? When the guitar eventually gets a bit of back bow, you'll find that no matter what you do, there's always a bump at the 12th fret you can't remove unless you get some serious fret or neck work done.

I used to have one. I got rid of it as quickly as I could after I found that out.

Give me an Edwards LP anyday man...

bro...How did you find out that the truss rod only goes in halfway?

Because my LP Custom then had a back bow, and the truss rod had to be tightened. So, no matter what me or the guitar tech did, the neck only moved upwards and downwards above the 12th fret. We measured fret highets relative to sections, and found that no matter what, the neck only shifted with the neck at the 12th fret as a pivot point. There was only one conclusion to be drawn from that. A broken truss rod wouldn't shift anything.

I then check with one forum (can't remember which one, it was more than 2 years ago...) and found that this was a common problem with Epi LPs then. Maybe they've changed the construction. This wasn't an MIC one... I think it was MIK or something like that...

Might be, but for me, it's once bitten, twice shy... Especially in a situation like this where you'll only find it AFTER you buy and try...

Guitar Connection is at Excelsior... basement.
