haha loved this place dude! I went here about 3 years ago when I visited Arizona. this is basically where I bought parts of my bass hehe.
how much do they charge for shipping to singapore?

i've arrange self shipping with Dave, my vox in the band works for fedex and he arrange a pick-up from bassplace, etc..etc.. and i got a 60% off. comes to abound sgd$120 + gst (5% cost of the bass)

ishibashi is a warwick dealer and they ship internationally. obviously not as cheap as USA, but if u cant find a dealer in USA it's not an option anyway. japanese companies use JIT (just-in-time) stock system, so email them to enquire if they can help you out.
yes warwick is a german company but then again it's also an international company. you could check thomann.de (forgot the exact spelling) but i doubt it will be cheaper or if they do orders outside europe.

you might also want to try something closer to home.

yup like the bubinga neck ovankol body wenge fretboard, brass frets makes a lot of growl hehe... even the rockbass (the authorized cheaper version of warwick) does not sound like a proper warwick.
my friend had his fretboard changed to wenge and frets to brass, he said it sounded a bit like a warwick already

well rather than looking at copies maybe you could look at warwick's rockbass line. of course it isn't the real deal, but if you're not looking for the real deal, it could do.
thomann.de ships worldwide. their prices however are slightly marked up compared to US dealers. they use a courier service rather than freight forwarding which is the more expensive of the 2, but that is nothing special.

oz dealers are usually kind to shipping to sg but i've always had the general impression that their prices are marked up as well

dun wanna be a spoiler but u can get a good deal on warwicks from US than from europe. IMHO.
i did some price comparisons, some warwicks in US are deeply discounted eg) a guy walk into a guitar centre and theres a old warwick late 80's for like 900usd (new old stock). late 80s warwick are wenge/wenge neck.
and some stores sell them heavily discounted during a period where Dana B was no longer the distributor and retailers are clearing stock like mad.
camp ebay and pray hard, the shipping going to hit u for sgd$250 and that is without hardcase. comes with a huge blardy box tho.

i used to use a rockbass corvette premium classic 5 stringer, same MEC pickups as the warwick versions. AAA flamed maple top maple neck n rosewood fretboard, it was already lacking in tone (but much better then the non-premium ones)
then i bought a thumb bo 5. it blew my mind.
2 yrs later i went for it and bought a streamer stage 1. WHOAAHHHHH.
PS. i found my fender to be lacking in many aspects (altho yeah it does sound vintagey n all)
