Oh maybe i'm doing it wrongly lol.
The video plays with pick, but i play the song with different way mah -.-
Think i'm wrong la, but then that song quite slow already hor, i use pick still having problems.

I feel that you don't have to die die follow what the original does. If fingerpicking gives you a good tone, by all means fingerpick. Of course, it's good to be able to do both.

thanks.

the only problem i have with the thumb and index to pick, always aim wrong string.
I can only like put 4 fingers on the side, end of the neck. then i can pick 1 by 1 with the thumb -.-

hey if u wan some finger works maybe u should learn some modes and scales .. thats is where u can improvise .. also ... try to practice ur fingering everyday for 3 hours at least (fingerin alone) if u are fast enough then u can slow down ... also try to persevere on the songs u wanted to play die2 must play ... my first song is Mr. Big Colorado Bulldog ... I mastered that song for nearly 4 months ... but in the end ... i appreciated my effort.

can do like wad i did before taking lessons, get a friend who knows guitar also, and ask him to teach you

wheres alaineth, mi 1st ever guitar teacher 8)

Hmm.

When I started out playing, I did try out yamaha beginners' course then I just realised it was all about PRACTISING.

I focused on my rhythm work on acoustic guitar. Eventually I moved on to acoustic leads.. I just listened to the song and tried to play along. If what I played sounded right or in sync with the song I knew that I did it right.

Then electric guitar came along, I focused on what i wanted to achieve, which is to play loads of led zep stuff. So I focused and eventually I got to 80-90% of what I wanted to achieve.

I'm not there 100% because we're all improving, so I guess I'll never be 100%. But it's all worth the hard work when eventually someday someone walks up to you and says you rock/groove on the guitar.

i was 11 yrs old from my tuition teacher who was a Pink Floyd fanatic... i did pass my exams tho...singing "We don't need no education" !!
Then hit acoustic folk >> Bob Dyaln style...then rock metal...then Alice in Chains ...dah dah dah ...now rojak !!

hahaha. i watched school of rock when i was young and i always wanted to learn the guitar. i only managed to buy a classical at the end of sec one. and i got this chord book. and i started off learning A B C D E F G then the # and bs and 7s and all. Took me darn long to remember it all at first.
