Where can I find professional studio in singaore?

Hi guys. I am new to SOFT. However i wish to find a Good recording studio to record "SOLO VOCAL Minus one track" for one song.. I am in delima, what is sound mastering? Do i need to master the song i recorded? Thanks for the enlightment.

Well in recording studio, you focus is to do recording,edit and mix each song. When you done with all the song and decide to do release as an album . You bring to mastering studio to make all songs in the album to sound consistence. That is mastering. In big context, recording, edit,mix and mastering can be separate person and different studio. In local context, you do all in a single studio.

Well good recording studio, I dunno how you define it. If put a price tag, cat $90 per hour and above = good studio? Well I know the well know ones are at this price tag.

you may have missed this earlier post that describes in brief.
Usually in UK/USA for example, they have each studio/personnel assigned for each category. but in Singapore since we learn to cut costs with justified compromise to match demand and efficiency.

most local studios do inhouse mastering together with the mixing and recording.

a good studio will be defined by the sound/results capability. after all just like eating, you can chicken rice eat at a fine dining restaurant run by a new chef at $10 per plate, when outside hawker run by 30 years experience uncle taste so much better at $3. let your sense of hearing be the judge.

most mastering jobs do that final touch to make it loud,clear,warmth,clarity etc ready for radio play or simply to have it all at equal levels so each track in your cd don't sound too far off even though recorded in different studios.
