hmmmm... its true actually. if u use stainless steel strings as compared to nickel plated ones, the stainless steel strings are brighter. more 'zing' to the sound. i've tried using them as they are suppose to last longer. but its too bright for me.
abt the ernie ball "debate", i find that ernie's sounds good (good tone i mean) straight from the pack, whereas for daddarios, u need to have "a few plays" on it for the "tone to settle down." like i mentioned earlier, the ernie's break easier for me, not that daddarios don't, they do, but at a less frequent rate. i guess ernie's are a joy to use that's why i bend like no tmrw and thus it breaks. whereas daddarios are harder to bend...
