Whats the fastest way to learn doublestrokes or any other strkes

i dont know whether my double strokes are done right but it took me about 20 mins to get it well "right" to me. maybe the next exchange i could try and show one of the more senior members and rate it. *throws eggs to self* dont worry i like controlling my imaginary ego. haha.

Ps. Alfe is spot on about all the different variations of the doubles, and sometimes it also takes a sadist to help speed up your learning curve

spinninsticks, when u say "sadist", did u mean the teacher or the individual himself? no, seriously, i wanna get yr view on this :-D

LoL @ snow, no, I'm definitely not refering to Alfe as I've yet to experience anything like that from him. Alfe still come across to me as a very warm person with lots of willingness to share *gains points*!

Anyway I just felt that it helps to have someone push oneself beyond his/her comfort zone, as every individual always prefer to do things within one's limits.

alamak, no lah, spinninsticks. i wasn't referring to alfe either. i just meant, teacher in general. or like someone other than yrself, laying on the pressure. thanks for sharing!

Oh, hahah I totally misinterpreted it. LoL. But anyway like I said in my previous post, it works for me to have someone else there to be a guidance and put the pressure across. It's because I always either settle for mediocrity or I don't know how good is good enough.
So if there's someone to set the benchmark, it'll force me to be less complacent and strive to become better.

Hi Dnatasha, I think the weights idea needs further elaboration from you because on a forum like this with no visual media to aid someone may misinterpret an idea and injuries may follow. You might want to take a pic to show how you actually practice with weights.

However, in my opinion, all it takes is learning the right grip, be loose enough to not choke the sticks and learn how to control the bounces in time. Weights may result in bigger muscle development and we all know big muscles slow down movement...try to ask Arnie to sprint for you!!

Yup, so a pic from you will really help and also a brief account on your personal development with the use of the weights will help heaps too.

Cheers!
