VS ones are right angled. Saves a lot of space for a lot of people with rectangular pedalboards.

If by normal you mean by Boss or Digitech or Zoom, 1Spot has higher current capacities, so you can run more pedals.
If by normal you mean those you can buy at hardware shops or pasar malams, 1Spot as well as the previously mentioned adapters are regulated, they provide a steady 9V regardless of the circuit connected. Unregulated adapters provide you with "around" 9V, depending on what it's plugged into.

The 1spot has higher current capacities cos it uses digital switching to get the 9V from the mains, compared to the lower capacities like BOSS which used a transformer. Pros are that it's lighter, and has higher current. Cons are that it can be noisy and if something goes wrong, can fry your effects due to the high current.
