recently i tried divebombing a strat. i know dive bomb and strat dont go in the same sentence but...i dun really like floyd rose :???:

so as expected, almost all the strings went out of tune. now if i wanna dive bomb and get it to still stay in tune, what do i do? change the nut to a locking nut or the tuners to locking tuners?

i dont really get what your trying to say but dont all trem system come with a locking nut ? or is it that you did tighten the the locking nut ?

you can also try changing your whammy to a wilkinson one. been doing divebombs and crazy vibrato with it and it doesnt go out of tune. only by a few cents sharp or flat, but it cant be noticed.

and.. have you brought your strat for a set up before?

Bring strat to a set up, stick with a set of strings that you will only use with that guitar, change to wilkinson, happier bomber.

But then again, will you be bombing all the time? If yes, then try to find a trem upgrade like the forementioned Wilkinson.

Getting locking nuts (heh), roller nuts will cost abit and change your neck.

Or you could get some nut sauce too to help with your current nut's lubrication.

I don't like Floyd either. Kahlers rule~

I tend to abuse my strat when I have the opportunity. it stays in tune very well. Mainly because of the nut. Remember you need to keep the nut very well lubricated. Locking tuners would help, but if you don't sort out your nut, you'll be back to square one.
