Hey guys!

I have been playing for about a year and i have sweaty palms. I use an Ibanez and due to the genre i play, i use alot of palm muting and the sweat that is produced from my hands get into hard-reached areas of the bridge of my guitar and i recently realised it is starting to rust really bad. I got some guy to clear the rust and after 2 months, the bridge started to rust badly again.

I just bought a new fender and i do not want it to end up like my poor ibanez so i seek out to all you guys who have experience in this. I need your help!!

Is there anything i can do or anything i can buy to spray on my guitar?

Thank you so much!!

For me, I too got sweaty palm problems, everytime after playing I would oil all the prone to rust parts. Using wd40. But don't overdo it, just sufficient to coat the prone to rust parts. Then just before playing I would wipe off the oil. Just like the army riffle. So far have no rust problem. Hope this will help.

wipe ur strings with a cloth. but no matter how good u take care of the things, the metal hardware are sure to rust de. Wear and tear yo. It can tell people that you do play your guitar and not put it in a cabinet for showing only. Haha.

WD-40 maybe quite harmful to the guitar, high chemical content, as many people say. It's best to not involve any chemicals with your guitar. Just do wipedowns everytime after you play, it should stop rusting. But if you want to remove the rust, then WD-40 may come in handy.

Thanks skafaisal, but where can i find the "wd40" you mentioned? What brand is it?

Thanks.

DONT USE WD-40 its god damn industrailgrade lube,i mean the stuff most likely will start doing wonders negatively.......

get some DR string polymer which coats the strings with a protective caot and eveytime you restring your guitar get some lemon oil,or fret board conditioner(OILBASED) and make a cloth moist and rub out the rust on the bridge and give a slight coating on the screws as such
