what mods can you think of??

Thats a very rash thing to say Audioslave.

You don't want to have your gear modded by the Moddists, then don't. Don't go abt calling them pian jia. Its an honest business thru and thru.

You can change the pot.

Change the fasel (can't rem what this meant but it gives better tone or something)

Change the frequency of the wah sweep

Change to true bypass.

That's abt it I think. Best email Randolf for a list. ;)

can we come back to the topic?

changing the pot only changes the sweep, and if you use too high a rating, the sweep will be completely gone

its an inductor, and if i'm not wrong, not all wahs have this

true bypass is for when you are NOT using the wah, most of the cheaper wahs use a SPDT(single-pole-double-throw) switch(non true bypass), which sucks the tone out of the NON-wah sound and makes a clicking noise when you turn your wah on/off, which can be heard thru ur amplifier, changing it to a DPDT(double-pole-double-throw) switch will reduce the "tone-sucking" and will also reduce the clicking noise

Hi Jeremy,

Just to reinforce and add.

1) Replacement pots in the market mostly have different kind sweep. Using a higher value resistance will not remove the sweep. I've tried it before with a 1Meg pot and it worked for a while till the pot crapped out cos the pot is not suitable for rapid continuous movement.
2) All Crybaby based wah pedal will have an inductor while the Morley wahs are more known for their inductorless wah. Ironically, I think the Steve Vai Wah is an Inductor wah.
3) On a wah pedal SPDT does not click if you compare it to a DPDT. When I put in a DPDT switch I MUST put in a bleed thro resistor at the input to prevent popping. The original circuit with the SPDT switch does not need this resistor.

Cheers,

what mod to think of.....

you own a DS-1 and wanna mod go ahead...

went down to sim lim square buy a bunch of capacitor, ops amp, audiograde cable,,, some copper thin fold and experimental around....

forget abt going to those moddist

hokkien saying= pian jia

wah cool but got missin info.

1) What cap value to buy and what voltage rating?
2) What opamp to buy and what kind of pinout?
3) What guage of audio grade cable and what brand?
4) What is a copper thin fold?
5) You'll need to buy a soldering iron, solder and a solder sucker.
6) You forgot the resistors and toggle switches.
7) You forgot to tell them which part to change to the new part.

Tell leh. When giving comments on forum must give constructive ones. Later kids go buys all the parts then what? Guide them a little lah.

Cheers,
