What kind of efx pedals should i buy?

Well...Does pedals able to function on its own like w/o a amp? Which means I'll just plug my guitar to it and have a headphone attached to the pedal.

Thanks for the info for the above posts. Really appreciate it

Yup. Distortion pedals usually can serve as headphone amps. I did that when I tested your strat remember? Lol.

I find that the TS never comments or follow up on the sugggestions given. I hope there'll be a change.

Nevertheless, I'd recommend the versatile Beta Aivin Hm-200. Good high gain and low gain tones for the price.

They can? I didn't know that. Most distortion pedals only have a port for power adapters, and the input and output jacks (Digitechs and some Boss pedals also have mixer output but those are also quarter-inch). How do you hook up headphones to it?

I guess I'll most likely get that pedal soon. Thanks for your input
I'm sorry..I'll try my best to research up on the pedals suggested.

u gotta buy the headphone jack adaptor from electronic stores like harvey norman. fyi, the adaptor is like a small tube with a quarter-inch jack on one side and a headphone jack hole on the other side.

You just need a small adapter which is commonly used on DJ mixers to plug monitor headphones in. Plug that into your distortion box output and you'll have an instant headphone amp man. I would recommend a pair of Sennheiser HD-25 headphones. I use them to DJ and also for monitoring, they will last forever and are modular so if anything gets dodgy you can easily find a replacement for only the part that's busted. Worth the dosh IMHO.
