What is your personality type?

INTP - The "Engineer"

INTPs are logical, individualistic, reserved, and very curious individuals. They focus on ideas, theories and the explanation of how things work. They are especially adept at discussions and debate. They have the ability to focus intently on a subject. They appreciate and respect intelligence in others.

Nothing wrong with that!

ESFP (Entertainer)

ESFPs are cooperative, "here and now" people-persons that enjoy excitement and love new adventures. Because of their highly social nature, they are especially lively when they are the center of attention and hate being alone. ESFPs have a practical side that allows them to finish work efficiently and are often good problem solvers.

INFJ - The "Confidant"

INFJs, making up an estimated 1% of all people, are the most rare type (males even more so). They are introspective, caring, sensitive, gentle and complex people that strive for peace and derive satisfaction from helping others. INFJs are highly intuitive, empathetic and dedicated listeners. These traits tend to act as a "tell me what's wrong" sign on their forehead, hence the nicknames Confidant, Counselor or Empath. INFJs are intensely private and deeply committed to their beliefs.

- Portrait of an INFJ (The Personality Page)

"INFJs enjoy a greater clarity of perception of inner, unconscious processes than all but their INTJ cousins. "INFJs tend to be devoted to what they believe in and seek work where their needs, values, and ideals can be deeply engaged. "Unequivocating" expresses the resoluteness of the ENTJ's dominant function (Extraverted Thinking). The light and heat generated by Thinking at the helm can be impressive; perhaps even overwhelming."

Generally (but N/A to all situations!), INTPs and INTJs do not usually get along with people of the SF nature, since we value making decisions based on logic over emotions. On the flipside though. INTPs and INTJs can be considered 'too serious' to the ESFP who is able to live life in the spur of the moment and is particularly skillful at entertaining a crowd :) That probably means you'd make a great frontman in a band by the way!

INTJs + INTPs = probably a good opposition party group. LOL

ISTJs make really responsible and great parents. They put family above self, and are the champions of always trying to put their best foot forward when it comes to morals they believe in - which usually places relationships on a very high priority over self. Does this accurately describe your girlfriend? If it does, you're a lucky guy, because usually people who are ISTJs are very loyal and dependable partners to have :)

These tests do not describe you PRECISELY, but I'm pretty sure it describes all of you fairly accurately to a large extent. The results are also not one of those 'generic and can be applied to everybody' type of answers and are fairly specific in some areas.

I am pretty sure James is an ISFJ or an ISTJ! Can somebody force him to take the test pretty please? lol

ISFP - The "Artist"
Temperament: SP (Creator)

Primary Function: Introverted Feeling
Population: 9% (8% male, 10% female)

I am an ENTP, much like George Carlin, David Spade, Weird Al Yankovic, Bugs Bunny and Chandler from Friends.

I'm really amazed at the number of N-type (intuitive) people here! I'd have imagined that most SOFTies would be S-type (sensing). Or maybe all the S-types just never even bothered coming into this thread because they can't be bothered with this.

hifi_killer: you can find the negative traits too on other sites; just google them.

where are all you NTs coming from? since when did we have so many rational, intellectual people in SOFT?

Fiarly accurate, although a bit too brief to really describe her well :p

ENTP - The "Originator"

ENTPs are logical, innovative, curious and downright inventive. They see possibilities for improvement everywhere and possess the ability to understand complex concepts. ENTPs are introspective and carefree nonconformists. They often neglect the more common areas of life while pursuing new solutions. ENTPs can be good conversationalists and exciting company.

Wow..This is something I never done before, and certainly the result is quite startling and I must say, quite accurate. Thanks TS :)

ISTJ (Examiner)

"ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ. The secretary, clerk, or business(wo)man by whom others set their clocks is likely to be an ISTJ."
- ISTJ Profile (TypeLogic)

^ spot on

"ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings."
- Portrait of an ISTJ (The Personality Page)

^ i have an offbeat sense of humor...

"...characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, "super dependable" would best describe them."
- The Portrait of the Inspector Guardian (Keirsey)

^ so shopping is not practical.

"...private, does not appreciate strangeness, not adventurous, not spontaneous, follows the rules..."
- Jung Type Descriptions (ISTJ) (similarminds.com)

^ not true.

"At work, ISTJs get things done on a timely basis. They honor deadlines, and they believe in thoroughness. A half-finished job is not a job well done. They established procedures and schedules, and are uncomfortable with those who do not do the same. ISTJs put duty before pleasure. As long as they can fulfill their responsibilities, they feel useful and thereby satisfied. Their work does not have to be fun, but it has to count toward something productive. ISTJs believe that vacations are something that one takes only when work has been accomplished; thus, at times they do not take vacations even when they could and should."
- ISTJ - The Reliant (Lifexplore)

^ spot on.

not bad. most american presidents are ISTJ's. and i share it with darth vader and batman as well. LOL.
