Hi guys, many ppl have qns regarding this subject. Started this thread so that we can enlighten them. Plz indicate if u want coilsplit and preferred pickups for the combination you chose. Cheerz.

For me, i prefer H-H w/coilsplit bcos its no-frills, and u can get a wide range of sounds.

Hmm.

I like the H-H as well but I feel that instead of a "direct" coil-split push-pull pot, I like the Washburn VCC system on their IDOL series which changes the pickups from a humbucker sound to a single coil sound at the turn of the tone knob.

According to the webby it has no hum has well. Pickups mai hum!!!

Too abd it's patented and it might not be applicable to other types of humbuckers.

And you forgot to add S-S configuration for telecaster freaks

Sounds familiar to what Peavy had ... Goose! Where are you?

But wouldnt' this mean, no tone control?

I enjoy either H H or H S or H S S.

For H H, its useful to have 3-way mini toggles to select series, parallel & split tones. Nice for when you need different tones and vibes.

For H S, just 3 way pup selector will do.

H S S, 5-way should do it.. I enjoy the neck single tone on a 22 fret guitar.

H-H-S with just one volume knob and pickup selector.
(i'm the kind who almost won't touch the tone knob leaving it at max treble)
Can't find such a guitar, yet.

Beez's is unique: S-S-H
Or, is it a S-S-SS, possible? I saw two screws on each side of the neck pickup, looks like a SS to me, rather than a H. I don't know.

H-H, same reason as shredcow and also I prefer a H-H look

S-S-S, solid single-coil sound all the way :)

currently favour a Hum + single combo, have only 1 in my collection, another's gonna happen soon 8)

wish i was already playing guitar when the RG565 was still available :smt011

Haha.....i got an outrageous one: H-H-H with killswitches 2 select coilsplit or humbucker. Get a diverse range of tones haha.

how about HSH with a H H look? my ibanez! woot!

but now i prefer HSS. love the single coil in the neck! great punch!

I have a Yamaha with SSH, and it's pretty nice. But HSH is fine with me too, no one likes HSH? Neck for solos, bridge for rhythm and the single coil for other purposes.

That's just my general preference, you can do whatever suits you.

The thing is that my bridge is of a considerably higher output as compared to my neck, and it makes for better rhythm playing. That's in my case.

I like the thicker tone of my neck for solos.
