What is re-biasing?

Hi all, was thinking of getting a second hand tube amp. I hear all the talk on the net about the amp being rebiased?!? Anyone know what that means, what it does, how it effects the amp sound is it necessary and where to get it done in SG?

Damn that was cool! Have to agree. Google, yahoo, bing etc are so convenient and easily accesible, for hard facts just use them...

Info. I did search the web. Yahoo isn't very good as i just found out. Thanks for the info, nonetheless is there any place in SG that can do it.

I haven't tried to, nor do i care that much about tube amps and all...
But you could try the following:
TYMC. Guitar Workshop. Guitar Connection, although this shop doesn't go down well with many of our fellow members. SV, the Woodlands one, and ask for Mike. Then at Marine Parade there's Beez.
However they are all guitar techs, you might want to email them to see if they provide this service.

Just go google, type "tube amp bias", click search. How hard is that? There are TONS of info to be found.
