What Do you Want in Your Photoshoot?

It's a common thing nowadays, amateurs advertising their photography services to band who are looking for a photoshoot, the band gets their pics, and the photographer gets to expand his portfolio.

I wanna do a general survey just to get a feel for the market, and to see if i'd really be willing to delve into this wholeheartedly after the exams,

So please, help a fellow softie out, answer these few questions and you'd make me a very happy girl



1. How Much Time would you be willing to spend for your Photoshoot?

2. Assuming There was a base rate of x Dollars, inclusive of y dollars per pics you choose, what would you be willing to fork out for both x and y?

3. Do you have an idea on where you want to take your pictures, and how? Or is everything up to the photographer's discretion?

4. What do you expect from the photoshoot, and any other comments?



It would be nice if other photographers shared their input because im only an amateur!

2. Assuming There was a base rate of x Dollars, inclusive of y dollars per pics you choose, what would you be willing to fork out for both x and y? okay now that it's clarified, i think the base charge should cover a set number, and then there would be charges for any additional pictures needed.

3. Do you have an idea on where you want to take your pictures, and how? Or is everything up to the photographer's discretion? I'd trust the photographer to know what he/she's doing.

4. What do you expect from the photoshoot, and any other comments? Photos that were worth paying for, and not pictures taken with a handphone.

there is a base charge of x dollars, but an ADDITIONAL y dollar per pic.

one day chop chop do finish. if weather permits of course. if not, then its rather subjective.

hehe if only i need to fork out Y then its best. it much depends on the rates which i wont lose out. but i think i'l fork out both X and Y. make packages like 5 pics for 50, 10 pics for 80! i donoe. haha.

i would expect the photographer to an idea of his/her own but i myself would think of locations to suit my taste.

Photographer who plans out. knows what to do in case weather not good etc. one who is ready and well prepared. personally, i dont how photoshoots always work, but i'd like to discuss with the photographer extensively first about the photoshoot. oh yes of course photographers who take great photos. heh

Yes, though the additional charge of Y must not be too much

If I have any ideas, ask the photographer for his/her opinion, then do the shooting, unless I got no idea then go with the photographer

Style! Must look cool And the pic should not be of too low a resolution. Also, no colour smudges and stuff. (I don't have any white/grey hair or pimples :mrgreen

hey vicko, im an amateur photographer. those questions u asked were some of the questions in my head as a photographer too if i were to do a photoshoots for a band.. lol..

you can probably create a mini questionaire (eg. genre, image preference etc) to ask the band prior to the photoshoot so you can do some research on the net, such as how professional bands of the stated genre get their photoshoots done. probably that can help struck some ideas.

I would probably have a set of ideas and direction myself, but I'm definitely open to suggestions. I would probably give him or her an overall "look" or "style" and from there we figure out from there

Really depends on the level of proficiency of the photographer and how much I am paying. It's a subjective question really.
