yes, James Herriot is dead. I love his stuff though. Very entertaining and touching writing. especially if you like animals, heh. James Herriot is a pseudonym, heh. not sure what his real name is.
me currently reading Stephen King's Dreamcatcher. I didn't get it the first time so now I'm reading it slowly.

chuck palahniuk - lullaby
the first time i read it, i found the plot absolutely odd and intriguing...

been following Patricia Cornwell's kay scarpetta (a pathologist) series too. and then there is another thriller author, Sarah Rayne. she's pretty imaginative as well

miranda beverly whittemore - the effects of light
fictitious but controversial at the same time, it is about the argument of photography on nude children being artistic or paedophilic.

currently reading Raymond E. Feist's Exile's Return.. and Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach..... haha

Dreamcatcher
Christine all by Stephen King
Four past midnight featuring Secret Window

Walking the shadows - donald james
A season for the Dead - David Hewson
Angels and Demons
Da Vinci Code both by Dan Brown

Rainbow Six - Tom CLancey
LOTR - JRR Tokien

yeah, Palaniuk's books are definately odd and intriguing....i quite like his style of writing....currently reading "Stranger than Fiction" from him...

The entire Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. (Well, it's not quite complete yet.) It's a brilliant fantasy series, tons of detail and scheming.

(Okay, that's not really the last thing I read, but it's definitely worth reading, especially if you're into fantasy. Take that, Robert Jordan!)

Not reading anything at the moment. Can't manage the time though have some books in mind. But would like to recommend one amazing thriller by John Sedgewick, "The Dark House". Read it about a year or two ago. At first glance it looks like any other Horror-based book, but once you dig in you find yourself watching a fantastic real-life incident unfold before your eyes. It's not horror, just a perfect thriller. From the themes I guess 15 and above should be the age requirement.

Anyone in here heard of Sidney Sheldon? I personally love his books.

A Stranger in the Mirror, Bloodline, If Tomorrow Comes, Nothing Lasts Forever, The Sky Is Falling are only a few from his various novels. It's all about suspense and stuffs like that. I like the way he's able to really make us feel as though everyone is a possible villain/victim, but the real villain would only be revealed at the end. And stuffs like that. Very thrilling.

sidney sheldon is a guy?
I thought.... he was a girl.
Read from newspaper about some author called Sidney Sheldon or Sneldon and her newly released book, 'Psycho'

Sidney Sheldon IS a guy. I was shocked when I first discovered that too. The name sounds really misleading! Haha.. And yes, his books are indeed very interesting.

would wanna recommend this book to avid criminal profiling fans. it has a 19th Century setting but the author had intelligently given it a very contemporary reference, a very CSI vibe this one...

strategic preemption - us foreign policy and the second iraq war by pauly lansford

i'm slow. i just learnt that the cia actually took bin laden under their wing and trained him. 8O

Cool. I'll try check it out.

And yeah, Sidney Sheldon's like my favourite author. Somehow these authors just have such VAST imaginations and they do such intense research just to write their books. I wish I could be like him. *hurhur.

I <3 him. LOL. I wanna meet him. *faints.

Talking about kiddy books, I have a whole collection of Enid Blyton's hardcover books. I receive them as birthday presents pretty often. I guess I was just a hardcore bookworm when I was small.

GEEK.

Yes. Lol. I kinda miss reading now. Haven't actually indulged in reading for some one and half years now. *GASP* With the exception of newspapers and online stuffs and whatever else
