What are good entry level condenser mics, preamps and where can i get them?

What do you intend to record with your gear? That will help narrow down the choices significantly. I'd spend a bit more cash for the AT-2035 for the added flexibility of a high pass filter and a 10dB pad (helps a ton in recording guitar amps that get ridiculously loud), and I personally think it has a smoother high end than the 2020. They're both good as the all-purpose basic condensers.

AT2020 has beautiful vocal recording capabilities. As Vax said though, if money isn't an issue, an upgrade to the AT2035 is worth it. I'm using the AT2035 right now and it records beautifully, even guitars sound ok on it. Although, for these you will need phantom power and a good preamp/audio interface for that is the Focusrite 2i2. It'd do you well to research a little and read some reviews to see if these fit what you'd like to record=) Hope I helped!

one of the most popular entry level mics around would be the audio technica at2020. it's quality is decent enough for the price you pay.

check out hung brothers at sim lim. prices there are much cheaper cuz they stock in bulk. alternatively, purchasing online from overseas vendors can save you quite a fair bit at times.
