What Acoustic Guitar to buy?

Hi all,

I would like to get an acoustic guitar. I have been playing electric for 3 years. Recent 6 months borrowed an acoustic from a friend to play. I am looking to purchase a new acoustic guitar for myself. Is there any recommendations? $400-600. the current guitar i am playing on is about that range as well. what should i invest in? and where to purchase from.

Any help will be appreciated.

quite decent budget you have there. you can get solid tops or even some full solids.

i recommend the yamaha FG series, i have an FG730S and it is incredibly bang for buck. solid top, has a full, balanced sound. got it for $430 i think. the seagull S6 is also great, it's a little more ex if i'm not mistaken, but should be within your price range. you can look for guitars at maestro and luthermusic at penin also haha

I like my Maestro. I'm using the ED-1 but am impressed by the ED range.
A BBT secondhand is also an option. Custom Acoustic too, probably can get a full solid @ 600 bucks.

save a bit more and buy the Taylor GS Mini...its a very loud sounding guitar that plays very very well. Bold sound and looks good.

Try taylor or yamaha guitars.

don't forget to consider 2nd hand guitars. more seasoned IMO. also, please make sure the action is comfortable enough for playing so that you wouldn't have to spend extra money to reduce the action.

walk around Peninsular / Excelsior hotel basement. so many guitar stores there to choose from.

I would recommend J&D acoustic guitars from Music Theme. you be surprised how cheap it is for the specs.
