can anyone explain wats wet sanding??? and hw to do it?? also, after spraying coats of lacquar, can it be left tat way to get ta glossy finish?? without doing wet sanding?? thnx..

unless ur spray gun is in super fine mode, otherwise you'll never get a mirror finish.

wet sanding is to level ur paint to a almost perfect flat.. and after this wet sanding there are many other steps to complete ur gloss job.. WET SANDING IS VERY DANGEROUS. you might wanna consider oil sanding as well.. any kind of oil can work but dun go steal ur mum's cooking oil of coz.. try something you can get in hardware store..

if u wanna leave your gloss as from ur spray gun or rattle can.. u may... unless u are asking for a very perfect factory finish.. otherwise it is ok to leave it as it is... dun fix anything that isnt spoilt...

thnx for your reply, ,so does it mean that wet sanding is juz to sand down those bumps??? oso im using can sprays for lacquar, after spraying a few coats n let it dry, do i need to give it any polish to get a shine?? thnx..

hey gary, other than searching on the net, anywhere else that i can pick up some airbrushing techniques ?

is there any portable airbrush on sale ? where and what kinda cost will i b looking at? and the colors ... thanks bro gary

take a walk at bras basah.. hunt for ur suprises there.. if u looking for budget and dun mind splattering airbrush, go sunshine plaza at princep st. coz u looking at is from $50 - god knows how much... colours are almost unlimited.. becoz u are allowed to mix them and use! but.. careful with that of coz.. :) if for electric guitar, rattle can acrylic paint can actually produce great jobs already.. not talking about how possible it can hinder the tone of coz.. but no matter wad, it'll be less damage as to acoustic or classical guitars.. ever wonder y classical doesnt have coloured versions?

Wet Sanding

Wet Sanding is a process of smoothing a surface with fluid on the surface, so that the abrasive particles are circulated or moved about to reduce actual abrasion.

If you use wet and dry paper, you would use some fluid to aid and ease the abrasion.
It is usually an intermediary stage in the process of polishing. The stages that follow include comppound polishing of various grades (which are technically wet polishing) dry polishing with e.g. 2000 grade paper or greater.
