I will choose the squier.... it's an alder body... and got 3 controls... imo, the headstock is nice too....

haha ya leave bout 80 bucks for a dist pedal,the Boss DS-1 or the Modtone speedbox will do the trick.

The 3 controls vs 2 controls any big deal?Because the guitar and amps can BOTH control the volume,but will the 3 control allow you to turn on as loud/soft as you want more than the 2 ctrl?

erm. 2 controls got one volume one tone. 3 controls got one volume 2 tone. the two tone is for different pickups.. so in a way or another, it is more convenient...

Oh,and I've been wanting to ask...can the Smash S2 with it's pick-ups play MUSE-y stuff with a Roland 15x?Cos' I remember that I read somewhere that Matt from MUSE uses pedals...apart from humbuckers...
