deedeeboi : er sorry I'm more of a freelance guy. my studio partner did suggest to rent before but I'd like to have a variety of different sounds/environment to record in. So that idea of renting up a place has never got around to a "yes" cos of me heheh. sorry no offence but you gotta count me out hehe. i'm just interested in borrowing different amps to record.
kerfei : actually I apologise i wasn't more specific, I bring my comp/soundcard/mics to your place and record. so it's not like bringing it out of the studio. more like record it where it is. I don't care if it's in a toilet or a bedroom. (nothing new really I record in a 5m by 5m bedroom for past 4 years)
darren : well first of all , if people were to use pirated software, they know the consequences (bua-bodoh-ing is not an excuse) and that anyone here at soft knows that. (of course to you ppl using "h20" stuff , darren has made his point) so you think I don't slog for my real stuff too? severed ties with narrowminded relatives/family, getting looked down by SAE/FSV students and other studios and friends who thought I was wasting time, stucked in a bedroom recording for 4 years for nothing? c'mon man, we all have our fair share of ups and downs. that's just too personal and too individual to generalise. and yes , I am one of the many bedroom-studio-based-recording enthusiasts you have probably heard that's gonna start on mobile/location recording using my PC with original windows xp pro and adobe audition 2.0, so please be a little more friendly on the way I assume how I think, how I operate and we're all cool here.. here's a simple common sense point of view from me - who is stealing your business really? If you're good in your mixes, proper friendly attitude towards your customers and you've done your proper advertisin like snakeweed (although he doesn't need to advertise, he treats his bands good enough for them to do it for him by word of mouth) , stable contracts with major record labels and radio (snakeweed/universal rec/radio corp etc) I really don't think you'd be whining about it down here. thats why I've said, if you use all those powerful plugins, how bout posting your mix and let everyone here give constructive comments and speculations why you could be losing business? what's your rate? could it be you overcharge? what's your studio name? help us to help you so maybe you could sleep better at night.
and I'd like to mention I'm not saying I'm real good or anything that's why I've started to post and read around soft forum more often to learn new things. and I like to help ppl who are new to it and wanna start learning audiorecording etc. so in the long run I get to hear more works of others and we all can learn from each other.
and please if you are interested, email kerfei man look at that poor dude repeating that line all the time. keep your animosity towards piracy within yourself. we all get the point that it's illegal and it's for "educational purposes" only.
90¢ worth.
