Want to be a roadie

Hi I'm new to the local music scene, was wondering where I can get a job to be a roadie of some sort because I wish to learn more about the technical aspects of setting up a performance. I tried searching on SOFT but nothing came out.
Much help would be appreciated.

:)

From what I've seen/heard, the best way to get started is to hang around rehearsal rooms and get friendly with bands. You might be able to find a band who wants to tour, and you can drive the van and lug all their gear around for them. Quite often this'll be unpaid or for beer, but if you hook up with the right band and they become successful, they'll give you a wage!
