Walking the Talk - 8 String Content

Just came back from a 10-74 restring and setup at Davis. Soooo much better than the stock strings. The F# still buzzes a little like my E string used to on my other guitar, but with some strength control it's not hard to get it to, well, not buzz.

I'm getting the feeling drop E is out of the question.

I just found out a few days ago why the lower strings are still buzzing. Davis didn't set the action on the saddle because I mistakenly told them I need a truss rod adjustment when I probably should have specified something more general. After some small adjustments of the bridge saddle (which included turning it the wrong way, making the buzz worse and not realizing it), there's no longer any buzz with a reasonable pick attack.
