Wah-wah pedal recommendation

Hey people,
Just wanted to ask, which type wah-wah pedal is more appropriate for the song "Sweet child o' mine"
The Slash signature crybaby, or the classic crybaby? Or are there any other kinds of wah wah which are suitable, Thanks for the upcoming replies.

If all you are to play is Sweet Child, I'm guessing the Slash sig would be more accurate.

Oh, and wrong section.

^ True, but the signature wah was made to emulate his sound so I'm sure the TS would get a more accurate Slash sound (particularly Appetite-era) than if he were to buy an RMC2 or Rack Wah.

yeah.sticking to the slash model would be more accurate bt personally i think that artist models are wayyyyyy overpriced.

I would actually have recommended you get the Classic Crybaby instead, because it really is a lot more value-for-money. The Slash is just a recommendation for you to achieve the tone you specified in the OP.

Yeah, i understand, cheaper and has a very similar tone. Ahh, must get one after my O lvls.

The only thing I like about that wah is the sparkly powdercoated hot red metallic finish.

Other than that, the slash wah is a horrible piece of junk that eats batteries (needs 2x 9v summore) has a horrible nasal ear-screeching top end and the "distortion" on board was almost useless. Not to mention the usual vomit-ty nasal sound that most Crybabies have when stock.

No, I wouldnt recommend it. But try it yeah, who knows you might like it?

For me, I'd rather take the RMC anyday.....

Thanks for your opinion Ized. :)

i think the crybaby is a better choice than the slash sig too.
its more affordable and maybe the slash wah's sound isnt what u want in the end (im assuming that u dont only play gnr,vr or slash's snakepit and they are your only 2 choices)
id say save the money and get the crybaby modded or get a wah that suits u more in the future.

Hei wait a minute u shud try out the wah with external distortion

ie guitar wah distortion amp (do not use on the overdrive/distortion that comes together with the wah)

check the sound, fyi, some wah sound too thin and soft with distortion.

rgds

Wahs are quite frequency specific.
Do you find yourself wanting to express more when you play your treble strings or bass strings?
Like Zakk Wylde, he likes to wah when he pinches on the bass strings. Conventional wahs will sweep at a frequency too high for that.

I think the Crybaby 535Q is a flexible choice. Because it allows you to determine what frequency range it will wah, allowing you to experiment around and develop your own style.

Hope you find the right one for yourself! =D

Ahhh thanks for the info dude, i will consider all these factors first before choosing. I guess the standard wahs are somewhat cheaper and almost the same standards as the signature. Hmm..
