Vox Cooltron Bulldog Distortion

Anyone owns one? I checked out the website with the clips. More modern sounding and a very fierce distortion pedal. Like more for heavy chugging (foo fighters? metallica?) kind of thing..

What are the possible distortion pedals to rival this Bulldog Distortion which are also in the same price range?

Also, what kind of charcater does the tube give to the pedal which sets it apart from other non-tube distortion pedals?

I'm sure there's more, but other distortion with tubes inside include the Guyatone Flip Series Distortion, Damage Control Womaniser and Demoniser.

thanks for the reference phil. btw the damage control womanzier and demonizer is a real killer in all aspects, especially price wise.

i've tried the valve equipped VOX pedals @ City Music, the ones with a drive function will experience a drop in volume once activated.
