Volume Pedal Suck Tone. HELP & ADVICE!

Hey guys!

I've recently got a BOSS FV50L volume pedal after some research. However I'm facing some tone sucking issues. Pretty irritating as according to my findings, it shoud work! I've noticed some roll off in overall volume and the highs. The sound isn't as responsive as it should be if I were to plug my guitar straight to the amp.

My current setup:

Tuner (Polytune) -> Compressor (SP Comp) -> Overdrives (BOSS SD1) -> Volume Pedal (FV50L) -> Chorus (Arion CH1) -> Delay (Nova ND1) -> Looper (Ditto)

Pedals are being powered by Cioks DC10

I am currently using an EG with passive pickups.

I'm only managed to troubleshoot and narrow down the VP as the culprit. Because everything works perfectly fine without the VP.

Anyone out there that could give some advice? Am I doing something wrong with my setup? Should I test each individual patch cables?

Thanks!

Since you have already narrowed it down to the boss VP as the problem, maybe sell it and buy a better volume pedal?

What's unconstructive about that? You posted something which you already have the answer to.

If there is "tone suck" (very subjective term) when the volume pedal is at full, you can try EQ-ing back the lost frequencies or get a new volume pedal. Also, if you find your tone isn't as "responsive" (again, another subjective term), you can try pushing more signal (using a boost etc.) into the pedal to see if it works better or buy a new pedal.

Also, try the pedal in different positions in your chain if you have not.

Lastly, if everything works well without that particular volume pedal, then maybe, you need to get a better volume pedal.

You might want to try a high impedance VP like the F50H (if there's one. I know there's a F100H) since you are using passive pickups. For a passive pickup, the 10k potentiometer just pulls too much signal to the ground. The low impedance ones will work more for active pickups.

What's not constructive about that advice?

Issue: You noticed tone suck in this pedal

Solution:
1) Change to a volume pedal with no tone suck.
2) Mod it.

Be glad people are trying to help.
