Vocals, Singers ......etcs

If you are not a good vocalist,i can forgive you,but when you say Vocal is not important la.You better take back those words. Since how you fare as a vocalist in emopunk band is 'none of my business', so what i wrote here in a public forum is also 'none of your business'.Why the hell must you freaky reply? as if you got no band to 'equally importantly' train your voice on?
The sentence is in black and white here "vocals not important la" for those who had read.Oh my goodness! you don't even know what you type here, want me to show everyone which section?
Whether you are good or not is certainly none of my business, since you are absolutely not up to show anything to any of us.Then maybe it is also not the time for you to comment so much since you are still far away from being able to sing jazz for this matter. :toimonster:

Actually what she said is: "Vocals not THAT important". Which i interpret as vocals are important but a band not all about vocals. Insturments play an equally important role(s). You guys have some misunderstanding(s).

I feel that vocals are important, esp if u are a solo artiste without a band.

I stumbled upon the blog of a young fellow, who is supposed to be some kind of artiste signed by some production house. Haven't heard his singing, apparently supposed to be damn good cos he is actually teaching vocals!
But he looks like a Mark Lee to me though.

wats the use of playing in the band if any of the band members hv this ego that he/she is the most imp that w/o them the band is nothing?

if any of ur band members is good,be proud of it...
coz he/she is in ur band...
n for the one who's gt praised, stay humble...

everyone in the band is equally imp...

but if any1 in the band thinks w/o them the band is nothing than i guess he/she shud be a soloist rather than in any band...
coz attitudes like that just ruins the band...

mamasita can sing and she's far from tone deaf. she sang over my girl from ipanema track and i think she did a pleasant job.

if you are good at singing jazz, then its ok...it depends on individual capabilities and interest. If i have a great voice like beyonce, celine dion, whitney houston, christina aguilera...damn! i wont be singing jazz....if i cant sing like them...high pitch powerful voice,i just stick to pop, jazz ,oldies or maybe alternative rock vocals....

thank you bboy! that was a nice thing to say :)

hahahahahahaha welposeeko, whatever you say to me here definitely IS my business. because imnot going to just let you insult me when you dont even know me. it's none of your business whether i can sing or not, because that is not why im arguing with you. i dont evenknow why im arguing with you anymore! because you completely miss the point of everything i say. you take what i say out of context, and read the message you blind dingbat, i said vocals were not THAT important, not as important as some people make it out to be. BUT STILLIMPORTANT! i suggest you check the dictionary if you see words you are unsure of and THEN reply, just so you avoid sounding silly, and fool the world into thinking that a tiny fractionofyour brain is reserved for common sense.

and i giggle when youinsult my vocals there, hahaha you havent even heard them! but honestly, i wouldn'tput toomuch value in your opinion, since i seriously question your ability to understand whatis written in black and white.ishan'treply you anymore, this is obviously a waste of PMS energy.

Then maybe it is also not the time for you to comment so much since you are still far away from being able to sing jazz for this matter.

so only goodmusicians can comment on soft lah! zomg welposeeko, i quake in your presence! iam not worthy to argue with the next God Of Music. :prayer:

Hmm.

Let's all chill. Please. I suggest if Welposeeko has a retort in preparation, he/she should proceed to do it by PM, and not continue his/her argument/debate with mamasita on this thread. :x

Back to the thread.

Hmm.

Look here, welposeeko. If you want to inflate your ego and give yourself more kicks by insulting someone over the internet hidden behind your precious anonymity I suggest you do it in other forums.

I'm not siding with mamasita or anybody here, but it's simple courtesy and forum protocol. Read the forum stickies i you feel that you're doing the right thing, and kindly settle this *outside*. :?

Do not give any of the forum moderators any excuse to kick you out.

okay welposeeko you win okay! i want to start talking about good vocalists again :)

i never really liked death metal but MEZAVIRS completely changed it for me okay! i think the way they fuse death metal+goth is genius, and jasmine has a killer voice.

welpo, wassup dawg! Mamas has already explined her position on more than one occasion. I know where she's coming from and I also understand your thoughts but for goodness sake, she knows what she's saying and it's a pty that you didn't.

Just chill and let it pass. I thought I was bad. Sheesh! Thank goodness for folks like you. But enough is enough lah. Time to move on. You've made your point and we do understand what it is that you're saying. That's all that matters.

Peace
RoRK

Hmm.

Back to thread please. Inflated ego or no, this thread is about vocalists, and we could probably share more about our favourites instead of bickering over "technicality for technicality's sake". Move on, people!

Personal vocalist favourites  :

1. Bon Scott (no-one, and I mean, no-one has his kind of vocal character, ever!)
2. Joe Cocker (his version of Mustang Sally made me an instant fan)
3. Neil Young (no doubt his voice is weird to some extent, but it's proof that even f your voice sounds weird, as long as you can carry the tune you're good to go)
4. David Gilmour. Yeah, he's a guitarist, but his range is just *whew*.

Hmm.

Welposeeko, it's his prerogative to use them, and I would discourage it. Do note that I'm impartial on this matter. In fact I would discourage anybody from using them. If Mr penta-tonic chooses to use it, I'm in no manner able to restrain him or anybody. i can only suggest an alternative course of action.

And just because someone else uses such terms does not give anybody else the liberty to go on abusing it.

This is my last post for tonight, and I hope that this thread which has already exploded beyond its intended course of discussion will revert back to its original topic. If you have any further questions, drop me a PM and we can continue tomorrow morning.

my personal all-time favourite would have to beella fitzgerald. i have absolutely noidea where to begin in describing how great she is as a singer, because her ability to bring out the meaning and character to the most boring of songs, is stunning.

lea salonga would haveto come next, and KT tunstall!
