Vocal Exercises at Home and Making the room Soundproof

One important in improving our singing is to do vocal exercises regularly.

I am staying in a HDB and my issue is I can only do vocal exercises after work and my vocal exercises are quite loud. This may disturb my neighbours.

I am thinking of making my room soundproof. Does anybody have any advice on how to make our room soundproof?
Hence I can practise freely without worrying about the loudness wrecking havoc :)

Thank you everybody!

Are you practising through amplification?

Usually, you can improve isolation with better windows and door.

Have a family member go around the block when you are singing to plot where it can be heard. Especially the units top/bottom/left/right.

Maybe your neighbours enjoy your singing? ;)

I do not practise through amplification. It's just that I normally practise late at night, i.e. after 930pm.

Thanks bro for the suggestion. I better ask someone to go around the block.

I hope they enjoy my singing though and come ask me for autograph. haha!

How about suggestion to make my room soundproof? Preferrably something low cost.

Try and get rid of any cracks around the door and windows. Also find something to hang on the walls to absorb the sound; you could try asking removal companies if they have any old lift protector things that they don't use any more, they're normally pretty thick.

Egg cartons are the classic cheap improvement, but you need a lot to cover all the surfaces and sticking them to the walls in rented accommodation might not be welcomed by the owner.

Thanks beardomusic.
The suggestions of "old lift protector" and "egg cartons" are a good one.
For the moment, I'll get rid of any cracks and find something to hang.
