Versatile? or one sided...

Hi, I'm still a noob using a TU-3 and an MT-2 with an epiphone les paul... I wanna create a versatile gear so I was thing of getting a delay pedal, a ds1 and a pair of dimarzio D activator, has anyone experimented on this before? I'd like to know if it's versatile. :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... I want to replace my MT-2 with a ds1 cause it eats up my tone... so yeah... and the amp I'm currently using is a Washburn Bad dog... but usually, I go jamming at Beatmerch's room 1 on their marshals just for fyi...

I'd like suggestions on the best possible versatile gear I can get cause it'd be a waste of money to get a pedal but end up hating it's tone after some time of usage... any opinions?

Both pedals are buffered bypass. If I were you, I wouldn't be too concerned about the tone sucking as of now. My advice is head down to ebenex or something to try the various pedals.

buffered bypass is not always a bad thing.

anyway, play around more with the amp settings too. volume especially. IMO gain pedals are there to soup up the amp's gain.

Exact set up as what I once had bro o.o

Only advice is get rid of the MT-2, that's about it

Do consider other distortion pedals, I got myself an electro-harmonix metal muff

versatility wise: You'll want low or medium output pickups. This would work well for most situations. When u want to play metal, add more gain from the amp or pedal. Try dimarzio paf pros for low output. Medium output try sd(seymour duncan) jb with sd 59.

For pedals, try multieffects designed to work well in front of an amp, low budget: zoom g3, higher budget: line 6 m9. Their tone and versatility are well documented. Do a youtube search for more info. If you have a bigger budget and want to go single pedals route, its hard to go wrong with suhr shiva (overdrive) and suhr riot (distortion) together. Best pedals I've had in a long time and i've bought and sold many different ones in the past. This should cover most of your drive requirements.

Awesome info there man! thanks fer the tip, but suhr riot's a bomb in my wallet x) I'll check out shiva...
