V Shape Neck Vs C Shape Neck

Hi Guys,

Can anyone please explain to me what this V shape and C shape thingie is all about? I need to know where to look at.. what's the main differences? I know at the end of the day is all about how you feel playing the guitar.. just would like to know what you guys prefer..

I've got an American Standard... now that would be a C shape neck right??

put the guitar upright, then look down from the headstock. V- shaped necks look someting like this >, C- shaped necks look like this (. V- shaped necks feel like there's something poking your hand when u play..
