Using Cort Guitars? There's the Ugly Truth.

I had to go through Army to be an asshole.
sometimes in an ass world, learning how to be an asshole is important. but i don't know where women get this training from but it seems quite effective especially where the working world is concerned.

anyway, it is difficult to pity really because as long as it's not some kind of coercion or slavery, essentially it's voluntary.

i ever met a university professor who told me about his research on prostitution. while the media would have you pity people in such circumstances, his research was done in a city in china where, while the prostitution industry was huge, there was a serious labour shortage such as in honest jobs like restaurants and factories work. the truth is that the only reason why women would work as prostitutes is because the moral taboo of their job isn't a problem with them (i.e. they are dirty whores to begin with) and are usually the most materialistic people around.

my shit aside, in reality if the government bans jobs that seem 'inhumane' they would have a serious problem of poverty which could turn into a problem of crime. in other words, such working conditions exist only because people who are desperate enough to accept them exist.

Stuff like this happens around the world. Its just whether you know about it or not.

One good example is Nike. I dont mean to defame them ( i have many of their stuff ) but there was a video showing the factory in China underpaying their workers and abusing their rights.

Cort isnt the only company doing such here. Moreover not everything is 100% true.

for one, i don't buy Nike shoes no matter what. partially because of the working condition the workers go through and partially because of the shit quality i get from overpriced shoes. soles of any nike shoes are sure to go in 6 months with the cheap glue they're using.

i don't face this problem with my free brooks from the e-mart or mizuno's or asics

then again, i might still buy cort guitars because their quality is over their price. =D

sad video though, if the company was making so much money i think they should pay their works better for their hard work. instead, the boss gets to keep all these profits. greedy bastards

Maybe the money went to keeping it this way.

And honestly, I think it's dumb for people to say they won't support a brand because of human right violations. Honestly, human rights is a joke. It's money that gets you your rights. And everything is produced in such condition due to the sheer amount of demand generated by developed nations. Want to do your part to alleviate their pains? Go kill yourself.

does this mean that there will be less and less made-in-korea (MIK) Corts? and that the MIKs now are the older stock prior to the unfair closure of the factory?

maybe instead of not buying Corts, we shld be more selective and not buy made-in-indonesia or made-in-china corts?

i have a MIK cort zenox custom, a great guitar, but these clips and cold hard truth still shudders me...

how many of you actually thinks before flaming cort.
all the replies are biased against them, and how can you take a youtube video as the truth?

Gosh looks like i got to throw my 5 year old nikes away!

Nah i dont stereotype a brand as such.

Yea wad ladyintears says makes perfect sense. Its v unfair to pass judgment based on a You tube video.

The internet is full of so much shit you wont be surprised to find ur photo on some pr0n web

I'd be honored to have my face on some pr0n website.

And c'mon, Cort's not the only one treating their workers bad. It happens that way EVERYWHERE. Taco Bell gave workers(tomato pickers) extremely low wages, Guess supports sweatshop labour, the list goes on.

My Nike still surviving after 5 years ... But it turned yellowish. Maybe I don't wear enough. The Hi-Cut craze seems to have died off after 2005-ish.

ya la better throw away la since u don't wear.. haha

nike shoes last 5 years ah? a bit hard to believe ah, unless u wear them once a month. is it made in usa?

Yea seriously its lasted 5 years. end 2004 till now. Its from the Ltd Edition shop though so i dunno if the stuff there are apparently better quality or smth.

Well, it's either have such terrible working conditions... or join North Korea in their "happy little state of communism" and get... even worse working conditions...
