Use Soundoff Drum Mutes in HDB?

Hi Everyone,

I just recently got a 2nd hand Carlos drumset because it was cheap but looks ok, so I grabbed the oppurtunity. I want to use it at home hoping I could practice at night after work but worry about the sound and vibration it will make in a HDB flat.

I read in the internet that a soundoff drum mute will eliminate 95% of the sound the drum makes. Will that be enough or I still have to invest to sound proof a common room as I really don't have much budget?

Appreciate any good advise on this.

Thank you very much and God bless!

Soundproofing by buying foams only treats a room by reducing reverb; stuff that studio producers care about.
So I really recommend the Evans Soundoff, they're your best solutions for a cheap budget and effectiveness. Based on what i have heard from my own experiences they really do cut off 95% of the sound.
Good luck!

You can actually play the drums without any ear protection with the mutes.

I have a set of evans soundoff if you're keen. =)

Thank you very much noconflictbanana and WestPunx for the advises.

May i ask if I still need a thick carpet underneath the drumset?

I'm interested WestPunx in the evans soundoff. Pls PM me the prize though I'm not sure if it fits on the drum set I have. :)

Thank you!
