Summer's over, so is my job, and so I have a little cash. I'm going to get either a POD XTL or a GT-8, not sure yet. Anyway, I have heard that they should be played through FRFR (keyboard?) amps. I am asking a) true? b) if so, I seem to only find keyboard amp with 1 12" speaker...is this enough for jamming with the band? I'm a little confused on how to amplify these things. If somone could show me a guide or take the time to explain this, then cool. I have alse heard to use tube head + cab...
Basically I'll be doing a fair amount of direct recording (no amp for that) but also lots of jamming with my band, and so need a loud amp and need it to hold its sound at that lvl. A little confused here!

Cheers as usual you helpful helpful folks :)

hey recommendation ill give u would be the vox tonelab SE. similar priced to the other 2 u mentioned. but the vox works well with guitar amps. very much easier to tweak than the xt live. heard both the tonelab and the gt8 in action and my vote would go to the tonelab. as demo-ed by a friend u can get warm lead tones and yes, high gain work. i suppose that would be something ure looking for considering ur music choice. hope this helps. :D

Aiya penta you rain on my parade. Was convinced of XTL. then though about digitech, swaying to the tonelabs. Then convinced between XTL an gt8, will try both and see! And now you come and throw another spanner in! Hahha thanks but no thanks - im down to these two, I just need advice on aomplifying!

Agree with pentatonic's reccomendation of the Tonelab SE ...

ive had mine for almost a Year it works great thru PA, keyboard amp or guitar amp...

main plus point about it is the tone lab's ability to create relativly "warm" dist/od tones... compared to the overly bright sounding stuff from other amp modeling stuff.
it is also VERY easy to use... but it lacks the billions of gizmo-tronic stuff line 6 and boss cram into their units. few good and very useable sounds. cleans or dirty.. few staple efx .. pretty much what i need... so its all good.

go try it man .. its pretty cheap now... i paid full price for mine... i think $600-700..
didnt regret one bit.

Mmm, i would disagree with the Tonelab SE.

Just tried my friend's yesterday and din really find the distortion that appealing. OD is warm alright, but it seems more suited for milder stuff like blues and soft rock. I can't really get the heavy metal tone out of it tho.

What i really like abt tt pedal is all the modulation stuff. Ya, what i call the spaceship effects. It's really good, and easy to achieve that wall of sound which post-rockers would love.

But then again The-Warlord i highly doubt u are playing such ambient stuff right :D

I'd still think u will be better off with something else.

Hijacked :)
Folks thanks again for the pedal input but I need adivce on ghow to amp this stuff, be it a XTL or GT8 or TLSE. Keyboard amp? Hurh?
