Hi guys, i got a ibanez gio guitar that i want to upgrade it to Dimarzio pickups, switch and tone port. do you think it will fit in?? while jamming , i notice that my guitar was almost unheard. i tried to turn up the volume but it still the same. by changing them, will it make a difference?? i'm loss here....do really need u guys help. (btw where can i send to install it) Thanks...

changing pickups may give you a "hotter" output , but imo , i dont think its worth upgrading a gio . you should save up on the pickup $$ to purchase a better guitar . but that's just my opinion .

if you really wanna get pickups like dimarzio , try sweelee (usually overpriced) . haha , or try seymour duncan at Davis GMC .

you complained that you can't heard yourself ? haha , have you max your volume control on the guitar ? and did you adjust your amp setting ?

it might not be ur pickups fault. dont blame the pickups until u've found out the exact reason why its like this. it could be many other reasons. i'm pretty sure it might be ur eq-ing. u probably scooped the mids did u?

Yeah like what dudelove said, check your tone, add in some mids or treble so as to cut through the other guitars or drums...

Changing pickups wont solve the problem, but instead give you more compression depending on the pickups purchased...

higher output pickups does not make you louder. i can have lower output pickups placed very close to the strings- this makes it louder than high ouput pickups sitting deep in its cavity... point being- it's not the output factor, there might be others (as suggested in prior post).

I play an Ibanez Gio as well and its kind of overpowering my other guitarist's guitar, so yeah I'd say its definitely an equalizer settings adjustment that'll rectify it. Try adding more mids, because more mids will make your tone fatter and more pronounced.
