unbalanced color of neck {help}

heys softies

i sanded my squier headstock decal..
after im done,
i realise that the color on the headstock is different from my maple fretboard..
how to balance it again?

Depends.. was the decal above or underneath the finish?

If it was underneath, it means you sanded away the finish too. The surrounding finish will age and discolor differently from raw maple and there's prob nothing you can do about it.... you can try to stain the maple with tea, coffee or shoe polish but its prob v difficult getting the right shade.
