I guess this vids only go to show its how u use your equipment then what u have which matters. If these can't cure your gas then i don't know what else will

Actually, I got the Fab Distortion mainly after watching him playing a clip of it. I didn't like most of the other gain pedals - tried or didn't sound to my liking. I suppose though much is true - cheap doesn't mean bad equipment. One has to really actively try out to find out for himself or herself what works and what doesn't.

Ya what i wanted to say, cheap does not necessarily mean bad. What surprised me the most was the sx acoustic and the squires especially the tele.

Squires for christmas anyone?

Damn, that guy's pretty good..

More to the topic, tone is subjective. If I can get a good sound out of my $30 Made-in-China stompbox, then it'll stay in my pedalboard. If I can get a good sound of my $400 Made-by-hand-and-infused-with-the-sweat-and-mojo-of-Hendrix 'booootiq' stompbox, then it'll stay in my pedalboard too. It's not how much you spend on the gear, it's more than that.. If it sounds like it's worth the money, go ahead..

As for the Squires, well, it may sound good, but sounding good is just one element of a guitar. Most, if not all, the Squires I've tried won't even get to the plugging in stage for me because of the feel. If you've found a good one, more power to ya' then. I still haven't found one. ;)

(And yes, I think I am subconciously trying to justify my many guitars.. :( )

Edit: I still feel that a good amp is an important part of the tone quest. A good amp can make a sh!t guitar sound good but a sh!t amp can make a good guitar sound, well, like sh!t. Cheers!!

Have you taken into account fully the amps he's using with those inexpensive pedals?

Amps: Reverend Hellhound, Avatar 2x12 closed back cabinet with Celestion 70/80 speakers, Vox Valvetronix AD50VT, SX 10w practice amp.

I don't think he's using the AD50VT or the SX 10w as his main amp, yeah?

I think he states somewhere on his site he uses the Vox Valveronix for his gear recordings on youtube.

not sure.

but dude! avatar 2x12 closed cabinet! i want 1 :D
