I don't know about you, but when I see the run @ 6:00, I think,oh boy, now that's some tasteful shred.

Usually, I don't care for fusion styles because they sometimes just dabble on and on like jazz groups... just a-doodling and the point gets lost... but its cool to check out Gambale - he doesn't get lost in this solo, doing a whole roller-coaster ride. I like the way he stops, starts, pauses, stretches, invigorates and just... enjoys it all. At least that's the vibe I'm getting - its as natural as improvisation comes... no ego and stuff.

Don't think it sounds like Cynic myself, but it's awesome nonetheless.

Frank is quite restrained on his sweep picking here and it's not too overdone - I've seen/heard examples where he just goes on and on and it ends up being like the Yngwie 'plinkety-plink' noise which is too much to bear.
