But to really compare him with Derek Rody, we need to see him play without triggers. Rody can do all that with loads of power, extremely clean and precise....

actually speed is not really a big WOW factor for me. even though i can't play fast. i'm more of a groove kinda guy...speed is just a matter of mastering techniques..but grooves are very personal to each individual drummer. and whether you play with feel is what will capture the audience.
