Dear friends 8)

just wanna know how many Tubescreamer fans there are here. tell us which model you prefer & state your case.

i'm with the TS7 (Tone Lok version):

*the most affordable yet achieving what the Series 9 versions have to offer
*a slightly modern interpretation of the Tubescreamer
*'HOT' mode offers more drive + bass output remains the same, unlike the TS9DX
*lighter than the Series 9 models

TS9DX.

Versatility. And with mods... oh man. Ts808 + 3 more modes or TS9DX + 3 more modes... 8 modes in total.

Still the defacto (if you can afford one) pedal for compressed, midrangey-ness.... love it for singing leads or hard rhythm

a vintage ts-808 would sound immaculate. the reissues would be a great substitude for a vintage one though. I mean, who would dare gig with an original ts-808.

tested ts9dx, ts-808 & digitech bad monkey tube overdrive just the other day. the ts-808 was definitely in a different league. sounds great in front of a tube amp.

I've no idea on modified ts9dxs and bad monkeys. they might sound better so yea, guess its personal preference.

by the way, how much is that TS-7 Tone Lok version? seems interesting.

Boss OD3, Digitech Bad Monkey, Fultone on FM settings

These are neutral, transparent sounding ODs that tend to preserve the guitar's tone rather than impress it's character on it. The trends to this type of OD has been on for some time.

TSs suck out bass and bumps up the mids and thus has a in-your-face middy sound great for punk and 90s alternative. Very distinct and in a way worth having in your arsenal.

not the TS9DX- in its enhanced modes, it adds scores of low end.

How bout the Ibanez Soundtank TS5??
I got one, which I can't even remember who gave it to me...
I haven't tried it before... :P
