Tubes for thoughts in amps

Hello guys out there masters and all guitar greats, i was thinking if any guys of u here who knows the best source to get information on tube biasing to individually to balance a tube amplifier. i have heard that certain minimal biasing need to be done even when u replace your new tubies into your amplifier as well as different brands of tubes changed with the correct "code" IE "6l6"EL34" KT88"EL84s.......would also announce unbalance in your amp thus causing some undesirable effect. i wonder if that does applys to preamp tubes as well thoese 12AX kinda thingy in code.

in short do i need to do biasing when i change tubies?? to even out balance??

do i need to stick to the old brands which amplifiers formally comes in with?? to avoid tolerance mismatch?

do i have to do rebiasing as well for preamp tubes? for the same case as in for output tubes?

and lastly for all that i hope u guys would know of or would wanna share his knowledge or web sources that i can do my research on and studies to know better. thanks :P

biasing is only necessary for power tubes, the pre-amp tubes need not undergo this process...

Thanks for ya information subversion anyway u know how basic biasing is to be done?? i would wanna replace my amp's tubes sooner thus not to post any harm to my circuit board . or any short classes to attend to for this topic?? thanks u guys for sharing the information too. :)

hey bro 8) refer to the links above.

however, i'd rather you get a personal tutorial from an amp tech, eg: SOFT's very own mikemann

chae u wanna change the preamp or powertube tube???
do let we know when you decide ...we go and sort out together ..can?
most probably go to the burlington shop to enquire or kepo abit..haha..

Sorry, I haven't being active on Soft lately. Workload increased this year.

First thing is that, you could be better off sending your amp to a reputable tech for a tube change. Locally it's a drag as techs don't make enough to populate the community.

Tubes are very organic components, and sometime they even have a temper of their own. Very see, hear and feel kind of attention needed to treat them.

I can do that for you if you send your amp in, just make an appointment with me.

Depends on the type of amp U got. Some are fixed or cathode biased so just plug in and go.

U can do it yourself....all you need is a Ohm meter, rubber boots and life insurance

Seriously, most modern amps have a pot/dial where you can adjust yourself if U know wat 2 measure.
