hi folks..for those familar with korg or triton extreme...

i just got a triton extreme from japan...without any power cable..the city music folks said i can just use any normal PC power calbe...well the back says 100V, 50-60Hz...38W...

can i use any normal pc cable.? pls help!

I think you gotta use a step-down transformer.

220-240 V step-down to 100-110 V

better be careful of the power cable,

else it'll blow your Triton black ?!

Read your manual

ooh okie..i also tink so too..that i need to use a step down transformer..its good to have someone concur with me..many thanks digihub!!!..wonder if city music has it..

i dont wana blow my triton black! its already as black enuff...!

Bro, harvey norman or sim lim square any place with electrical hardwares should have a step down. Thank god you checked before plugging it in :)

did you buy the triton from japan or shipped over from japan ?
is it from ishibashi ?
could mind revealing the price you bought it ?
triton extreme comes with the best selected sounds from the EXB-PCM cards !

yes, you can easily get a transformer from sim lim sq or tower

thanks@! got the transformer today..its heavy...how can i bring this to gig and jams....wa lan///.....

but the sounds are power leh..as for the tube...i half agree its a bit of a commercial gimmick...but it does mak certain sounds "warmer"...trying to figure out the sequencer, and layering sounds...i have splits and layers and sequences going on at the same time....all on the le previously....have to either transfer them over or re programm my layers and sequences...

this is gona take me weeks! arrrrrr

......i heard that u can edit the program in sequencer mode without affecting the actual presents...and 5 insert effects..woohooo!!!( sorry i had a Le for 2 years this is a much awaited upgrade)

got from japan loh..not ishibashi though...about 2K++++++ including shipping plus packaging ( its huge and 15 kg!!) plus insurance plus 7% gst.

now i wonder ing if i can actually change the internal parts to make it 220 V ....the transformer is simply not transport friendly , not to mention the extreme is 15 kg..i gotta slog it weekly for jams !

thanks all for the advice thus far!

hey guys..something interesting...

emailed korg japan with the help of a japanese frend....they said that the sticker was there for the sake of japanese consumers

actualy all extremes have a universal transformer inside......so...guess wat i did....:)

it worked.!.now i have a spare transformer. and 1 less transport prob. still i have to thank all u guys! i wil still bear in mind to check the voltage for future imports!
