Tried Yamaha Drums?

Just to clear things up here ( and im putting myself in trouble by getting shot from both ends if i make any mistake..) , TS didnt state his budget, but Dark Heart assumed his budget isnt that low because TS was considering Absolute series too? Maybe thats why he suggested Reference series.

However the discussion came to Yamaha Stage Custom after a few more post, which is Yamaha's Entry-Level kit? thus now people will assume TS is looking at the entry level kits instead of the higher end kits. ( take note i said higher end, not high end.)

Thanks for helping to clear things up. They assume they understand TS alot.

To jeeper and drumsolo86, TS never state his budget. What you guys flaming about the reference series recommendation??

And to Dark Heart, please stop making stupid comments when you can see from the TS's post he/she is not considering high-end kits. Put some thought into your posts before posting it.

I will now throw back these words at your face, pls read carefully what TS put before you comment. He nvr state budget. And this is a forum, if everyone is so serious like you then why start a singapore music forum. No one will dare to reply or start a new thread becos people like you will start "reprimanding" people.

Don't wish to put this here but i hope that everyone will learn to relax and enjoy our dearest and enjoyable Singapore Music forum. I enjoy my time here.

Hey if ur budget is 1.5k, no point spending 1k or 1.5 k on stage custom, get a tama superstar which gives almost the same hardware that they give to starclassic except the bass drum pedal, (f.y.i starclassic drum sets are given a iron cobra power glide pedal ) superstar bass drum pedal is the hp300b which is the brand new iron cobra jr model which allows you to put cobra coil, drum shells are birch and just 1 or 2 plys of basswood.
But it doesnt give a drum throne but u can get an ordinary tama drum throne at swee lee for $60 unless u want those big and sturdy bicycle thrones which would costs $200+, anyway back to topic, i tried yamaha pedals at a yamaha shop recently and no offence to yamaha fans but those pedals are very noisy and it just doesnt feel good compared to those tama or pearl pedals, eg iron cobra, pearl demon and it is surprisingly expensive.

Maybe the pedals not oiled or properly setup? haha, like when I first tried out a DW9000 pedal, I found it quite hard, second time, it was much better, probably it was after tuning or what. But all these are personal preference I believe, my Yamaha SC stock pedal is not bad to me, at least better than my previous one. And, superstar is a gd choice. :D

I have played a yamaha stage custom, and a yamaha manu katche. My personal snare is a yamaha maple custom absolute 13X4. They are great. Best part would be the durability and consistency in the long run. Played in a club before where they used yamaha drums as well. A great choice i would say!
