Band to look out for METALGODZ 4, this Sunday(6th Aug 06) - PROGERIA!
Formed in mid 2005 as a project band by Jon, Leonard and Syed, Progeria played its first real gig at Celebrations @ Hougang mall to a well recieved audience. Playing covers of bands like Lamb Of God, Opeth and Porcupine Tree, it showed everyone the varied influences that each band member had. Over time, influences of the band members all converged to finally create what is known as the "Progeria Sound". With originals being written now, the band aims to look forward to playing live more often, getting to know more people within the musical circle in Singapore as well as around the region and hopefully, the world. Progeria consists of 4 members who have all had experience playing in various other bands, ranging from electronica, post rock, melodic death metal to metalcore. And its with this experience that Progeria will look towards the future in the hope that someday, the band will be a permanent fixture in everybody's playlist.

Carnal Forge, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, In Flames, Opeth, Darkane, Soilwork, Hatesphere, Construcdead, Dimension Zero, The Haunted, Dream Theater, Dark Tranquillity, Extol, Carcass, Spawn of Possesion, Dew Scented, Nightrage, The Defaced, Harcride, The Crown, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Iced Earth, The Duskfall, Soul Embraced, Terror 2000, Non Human Level, Mnemic, Kayser, Shadows Fall, Indwelling, Disturbed, Korn, Project 86, Incubus, Porcupine Tree, Deftones and Mastodon.
SOUNDS LIKE:
A mixture of bands like Lamb Of God, Meshuggah, Carnal Forge and a bit of Opeth thrown into a gigantic huge assed blender whirring in its most powerful mode. Add a bit of water, throw in a Nokia 3310 handphone tied to a rafia string as well and then have 3 monks talking in the background with a crying baby nearby. Thats what they sound like!

Yep, he got sorta a group of girls following him ard wherever he goes. Cant blame him la, good bassist = sexy fingers.
BTW, wish all the best to Progeria (and the rest of the bands!). Hope they bring it man.
