You need Mikael Akerfeldt.

if that's the case, can i share something? i'd read a book about songwriting (oh! borrowing books about songwriting might help, if you like to read) and most of them mention about time and inspiration. you need time for an inspiration to come naturally. if there's no deadline, DON'T set a deadline to yourself to come out with a number of songs. you know some say singaporeans die faster because of too many deadlines? I don't know.. anyway, it'll only make your songs sound somehow incomplete or "rushed". take your time. good result don't come easy.

besides this, listen to songs you like that you want your song to sound like (but don't copy). it'll help somehow. and these songs you hear are your inspirations to set as a stepping stone.

yups. great ideas come naturally. you just need to work hard at the start.. must learn not to stress.. stress so much later hair can drop off. or turn grey.

Be yourself!

Have some class! If donch have then learn to get some.
It'll help in your arrangement and intellectual integrity - ie is the song or riff good enough. if it's not then leave it and move on. it is not the case that every tune you hear is good.

Be creative!
Do things differently. Each song should be really good in your honest opinion. Be creative in arrangement, playing style etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Donch listen to too many songs.
Listen at spurts then stop. Donch write immediately until the songs you hear are out of your system. Better yet listen to songs from genres that you don't play. And if you play a particular instrument, then listen to music form another instrument. These are crucial only after you have listened to a lot of music. Donch write too soon into your musical journey. Learn to mature as a listener first and foremost - listen to music that has 'class' in it. You'll be a better songwriter.

Inspiration
Inspiration gets you started but it is perseverance that helps you to finish a song.

Musical Maturity
You'll get better with time BUT your best are usually the first 30-50. Just look at the number of bands that have great first albums and then disappear and you'll see why this is true. Also, depending on how matured you are as a composer/songwriter, your first 20-30 could be your worst. Too many peeps get into songwriting too early. Too many peeps release an album too early. Two to three songs donch make a good album. Aim for at least 10 good songs and then you're starting to get warm.

Here's a few tips..

First and foremost, good morning to you.

-The thing about songwriting is that you need to have experience
-Next, whenever you write, never lie. To know that, give a triple knock to your heart
-The next step is, start with simple steps, simple words. It'll show through the lyrics how you feel at that particular situation, venue, etc.lalala.
-Furthermore in life it is just like ABC n 123, sometimes we may climb slowly up the stairway to heaven but then again, we fall n we fall again. Point here is, NEVER give up.
Life is about trying.About writing.Daily reflections will assist so as to improve our mind to always think positively through each and every page, perhaps chapters of our lives.
-Umm.Ever heard of 'like sands through the hourglass and so are the days of our lives'
-Lastly, here's a very simple lyric to share with each and everyone of you out there.
-Thank you for your time to simply read this.
-Cheerostostos to y'all! ;)

-Dear Love-

V1:
Did you hear the whispers of the unfortunate
Yes you do
They can hear it but can they feel it too
Did you sense this need to unfold the reality
Yes you do
You said put yourself in the other shoe
Feel the pain of their walking
How a simple caring shall ease
Show some love honey please

Chorus:
It's the way you look at me..
Dear Love
You touched my heart
You stole a part of it
Dear Love
Cos you can see what I see

V2:
Did you feel it when they don't understand
Yes you do
That all this voice within need a hand to hold
Could you tell that this girl yearns for the peace
Yes you do
And you'll fill part of her emptiness
You said I was hurt in life too
How soft as a word shall ease
Show some love honey please

Repeat chorus once please

Bridge:
You can see what I couldn't really
Really see
The one that I want is
The one that I really need
You helped me see through my mind what I shall be
Your tender smile that gives me that peace
You can see what I see
That I just
Ouh
be me

thank u gentle-minded readers

*Words of wisdom to be shared though; -
-As long as you believe that your lyric, your positive message can and WILL be sent across to the audience, there'll always be a WAY
-Listen to the song unfaithful by Rihanna again. That was my first song performance for teacher's day during my sec sch years.
Now try to listen to the song 'Take A Bow', Rihanna's trying to say that life is simply a non-permanent stage, stop pretending. It's all the matter of sincerity when it comes to writing
-Let us all try to listen to the song by Mr Jesse Mc Cartney, he isn't selfish in his song 'Leavin'. By singing it, he is saying that, in life, yes, we may fall, not in love, perhaps negatively, as in, u've succeeded, but you need to share your happiness
-It's as if he's saying to his girlfriend "it's ok my dear, i may not be as good as you but there's still many more positive light to look up to.Even if we have to break up, there'll always be a better replacement out there."
-Like Leona Lewis said: BETTER in time.TIME is GOLDEN. GOLDEN is P.A.T.I.E.N.C.E
-P:persistent; non-complacency
-A:a button. Start pushing, perhaps strumming the right melody. Start by simple steps. it's from A that you get to Z
-T:tolerence; asking opinion from one another. Majority always win
-I:inter-communication; verbally, speak wise words. Not excuses.
-E:Examplary; others may not see or understand what you're doing, acting, on that particular second of time. As such, be the model, example.
-N:no.Anti-Popularity! It sucks big time out of you. A reflection a day is enuff. Stop with a big PPP that 'Ouh, i'm already a superstar.!'. . .
take a rock.knock your head with it triple the time. perfect to you. NOW.
-C:Complicated.Patience is something that will always, non-stop test us, indirectly, without us even realising it.
-E:ENOUGH SAID. Thanks. :) Peace.

Wah D.Youong1 - we must collaborate yr words with my melodies ..
