THUMBS DOWN to Ranking

Just wanted to share a really bad customer service experience i had at Ranking today.

I went bass shopping today at Bras Basah, was looking for my next ash/maple bass. Walked into Ranking and saw the Marcus Miller signature hanging there. I asked the boss to try it, and then it happened....

First, his attitude was at best uninterested. I had to wait for him to stroll over casually, and he was not interested in answering my queries at all. When I told him I wanted to try the Marcus Miller, his first reaction was "it's an expensive guitar, you sure you wanna buy it?" He repeated the price to me at least 3 times as if I did not know what a Marcus Miller signature was.

Plus, he kept discouraging me to try it, saying that I could only try it if I wanted to buy it. Was it because I looked too young to know my basses? Or too poor to afford the Fender MM? whatever the reason, it was definitely a big mistake in customer service.

In this day and age, service is the name of the game. (Just look at the service Sinamex, for example, provides) I am nothing short of enraged at the moment. I would rather pay double and get it elsewhere than even consider buying it from Ranking.

All I can say is well-done Ranking, you just lost a potential customer.

Dude - I'm with ya. Chill out - it happens. BTW - Can I sell you a Marcus Miller base for 2 times the price - since you said you would buy it :D

Hey. I'm really sorry about your experience. I can totally feel for you.
I think shopkeepers should wake up and realise that we don't owe them anything. They need our money to survive.

Bad service..???

I thought this only happens at Davis's Guitar at Peninsula Hotel shopping Ctr..
Good that you posted!

same $-it

same thing happened to me from a different store, cos I wanted to buy a new set of string, I ask that fat guy in peace center, he kept on repeating "you want an 8 string ah" four times as if I don't know what I want... I said fcuk YES I need an 8 string set for my bass guitar! and I handed him the set! he said "this one ah"... (yes that done AH) he is so arogant to sell as if he done want to sell It to you and just want to keep the thing for him self or display it in their store, from that day on I will not set foot on that shop again ever!

two thumbs down...and shake of head... peace center city$-it

bearclaw, will close this thread now since it will be more effective if you tell them how you feel directly.

SOFT can't help you much also.
