things you hate when in a competiton

^ Then again this only applies to people who wants to make it to the mainstream ah :P
If we're doing stuff like our own core of expression and style and individuality, something unique, I don't think these bunch of musicians are gonna care at all about what the judges think..

A band comp is something that is for the mainstream stuff
But,if you are not into indie, mainstream, pop stuff you can`t go far..
thus i think that it is quite bullshit..
what about metal bands, grunge bands, stoner bands, hard rock bands??
constructive feeback from the judges are good..but some judges are just way too biased to these kinda bands..
anyway,i don`t blame them cause i believe that when you wanna choose bands to be heard in radio..you have to get radio friendly bands..(trust me,i`ve been a judge before and i was quite shocked at the way the main organisers chose the winning band)..

But there are some good band challenges, competitions that are quite open..the judges are also quite open to different judges, which i find are very good..

Neverthless,You guys should just go for band competitions..winning is not the only answer, but it`s more for exposure instead

Don`t change the way you play your music..don`t let others tell you what to play..if you guys play core stuff, play it with pride,if you guys black death, black stuff, play it with high heads
cheers!

Strength,Determination,Merciless..Forever!!

Yes I agree with you as well wylde. Judges can be bias somtimes, but generally people only want to hear stuff they want to hear, which brings down to radio-friendly/mainstream music. Again, like I'd said, judges are the voices of the audience. I speak out for those they think would buy your albums, catch your concerts/gigs and remain to be your fans in a long run.
