Thickness of picks

naw it isnt. i use 1.5mms on 10s, 9s, and last time on my bro's 8 strat. should'nt be a problem. 2mms even function well on 9s. so i dont think u shld worry abt it. ^^

For strumming, u need a flexible pick. For gd alt picking, especially if u go for the speed, the money, the fame, the babes (holy shit), then a hard pick should do the job. Bt sometimes some ppl can adapt to anything.

Definitely not. I'm on 3mm stubby on 9s :)

Eh Moo.... I've downgraded to the 2mm big stubbies.. :) I just find that its a tad more responsive and grips the string better, giving a nicer more focused attack.

You want my 3mm picks? ;)

no idea.. thick picks spend more time on the floor, thin picks gets stuck on the string.. awe-in-one works for me :D

Hi

You guys tried jazz surfpick ?
www.surfpick.com
It's abt 1.5mm-2mm but it's made of hard wood , lignum vitae.
I used Dunlop JazzIII but stopped using when I got this pick frm States.
It does wonder to your original tone and ur pocket..it quite expensive.

I asked my pal in States to buy it & delivered to me. The owner of surfpick does'nt sell his picks outside States cos dat wood is an endangered species.

it personal preference actually. but usually thicker strings give u more speed as the attack is quicker. but quite hard to get the accents in tone with pick dynamics control. but neil zaza uses 2mm dunlops but he is very good with the dynamics. paul gilbert changed to yellow tortex 0.7mm from 1.5mm picks but still shreds.
