They are Back! - Ibanez Maple Fingerboard

i like maple. it's very hard and the sound it brings is real clear and sharp, compared to rosewood. but i like rosewood for the softer touch and feeling.

i would want to own an RG with a maple fretboard though...

yucky lacquer.

hey, i like laquered fingerboards.... jk, to each his or her own preferences, but i find unlaquered fingerboards quite rough, and they dont have that vintage vibe

lacquer, especially the 1cm thick type they used to put on Ibanez really sucks...yur fingers stick to it.. I hope they use a thinner lacquer these days.

Not demerit-ting base on origin, just that Korean RG's tremolo system is not as good compare to the Japan ones, the Japan Jackson has better electronics - Seymour Duncan pickups ++. Some manufacturers differentiate their product by country. That's how it is? :D

eh, not realli true for some Korean pieces e.g. my RG350DX which utilizes the Edge III floating trem.. i find it to be relatively more stable than the models with Lo-TRS or ILT1 trems.. even the old RG470 is using the Lo-TRS II floating trem & its a Japanese model
