The US Presidential Elections

Not rooting for anyone but it's cool if Obama makes president. Republicans have been largely ignored in the media ever since the ongoing battle between Clinton and Obama but I think that's about to change soon. I think McCain has a very large chance of winning this, but he's so....old. Have you seen his face lately?

Not rooting for anyone in particular, as well.

I found Hillary's other half to be fairly irritating, but that's me.

Didn't really follow, just listened to bits and pieces when my brother and dad were debating over the topic.

Obama hes the man..........now issue is whether he makes Clinton his runnin mate and hence VP.........but sorry i don't trust that woman shes a horrible creature........

definately hoping for McCain to take the seat.

From Mr O speeches, seems like he`s closing in on Free Trade. In time , this will take a serious blow on US economy & to the people. By protecting the industries, it is only gonna hurt the economy more.
This had been proven centuries & centuries.

and when US economy down, gonna have a HUGE impact around the world which in the long run will of course impact me

and yes, i think the whole world is hoping for McCain to take on the seat.

I'm hoping for Obama to win. It's time for some change. I'm not too concerned about the policies- policies can change and adapt to the situation.

And if he wins, I doubt he would make Clinton his VP- he's been bringing in new people all along and it would go against his message to use someone with so much baggage.

The world needs Obama. It is very impressive to me that he would use dialogue as a first course of action against old nemesis like Iran and North Korea, rather than bombs and sanctions which characterized the Bush regime and maybe McCain's too.
An enlightened person and humanist, Obama is to me.

yes, I believe Obama will do more for America's placing in the global community than McCain can, with all due respect to his achievements and abilities.

Both men, i'm sure we can all agree, are leaps and bounds better than our old pal George.

No more Republicians at the helm please!

Obama is the man. He's gonna invoke so many changes that sound more meaningful than McCain's.

Although I hope Obama keeps to his promise.

C'mon Obama!

If McCain wins, the world will end soon! Look at what the current republican in the hot seat has done to this planet.

ignoring bush, what's wrong with republicans in the hot seat? I'd like to hear a sensible argument for once and not just spewing nerd rage that your favorite band has affirmed.

ill vote for THOA if his a candidate..
but then again it could be a bad idea...

i say my vote is for Obama..
he reminds me of the dude in 'Bruce Almighty'

I think the cultural differences are so vast, that I can only say which I believe would be best globally. Bush for example did great things within the US, and many americans think his great, while I think his trash. Go Obama.

Either is ok. Because it can't get any worse than George W Bush.

hahaha... I can't just sit and observe through this one... I totally agree on the GW Bush part ... definitely the champion in any 'beat around the Bush' competition

Personally, Obama's candidature is a testimony that the American notion of Citizenship has matured since the early advocates of American Civil Rights like Frederick Douglass, Du Bois, Martin Luther King Jr and other American Civil Rights activists. The foundation of freedom of expression does prove to promote higher civility over time. It is also interesting to observe the civil society movements in Malaysia. If the trend persist and civil societies are allowed to raise issues, speak up and advocate changes, perhaps in this region, Malaysia could be the first country to develop into a true democratic society.

Exactly!

Don't vote for me cos I'm not white (or, in Hillary's case, not male). Vote for me only if you believe I am capable of holding such position.

Cos seriously, what's the point of being the first black or women to hold "the most powerful position in the world" if, in my perspective, both candidates are uncapable of that position.

With great powers comes great responsibilities... and so I vote for Peter Parker. Hur hur...

Serious note: I was personally rooting for Hillary, cos I believe she would do a better job than Obama. The turn of events that saw the Democrats internal support shifting towards Obama smells fishy...

Wait till Arnie runs for President (if the legislation on immigrants becoming President changes)...

That would be something...

omg, if arnie was a candidate he'll just beat the hell out of opposition party based on his strength alone.

and if he becomes president he'll be going visiting various countries for talks and they'll most likely be awed by the fact that he was an actor and they'll be askign his signature or something. of course he'll say that "I'll be back!" before he leaves.

THOA

haha which was why i said it was a bad idea. maybe you can try leading a cult first and depending on your performance, we'll see if you are fit to run for precidency.

as for me, i dont know. i prefer obama, his promises seems to be more enticing. but then again promises are ment to be broken no?
