not sure if it's true but heard that Slash's Les Paul wasn't a real Gibson. It was a custom made guitar from his friend with the Gibson logo pasted on. Even Gibson thought it was Gibson. LOL. i dread NS which will be like 2 years later.

eddie van halen used a gibson PAF pickup taken from his es 335, plugged into a 100watt super lead plexi, and create the "brown sound". hence, low output pickups CAN do high gain.
